Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to common questions about sessions, fees, confidentiality, and getting started.

At this time, I offer virtual therapy only for clients located in Texas.

My work is primarily psychodynamic, relational, and integrative. Psychodynamic therapy provides an important foundation for my work, while attachment theory, trauma literature, emotion regulation, value-based living, and additional clinical training also inform my approach when clinically appropriate.

Yes. Therapy is confidential, with legal and ethical exceptions.

Confidentiality means that what you share in therapy is not disclosed without your written permission, except in situations required by law or professional ethics.

Limits to confidentiality may include concerns about safety, suspected abuse or neglect, court orders, or other legally required circumstances. If questions about confidentiality arise, I approach them carefully, with respect for your privacy and wellbeing and my ethical responsibilities. My practice is guided by the ethical standards of the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. See Code Of Ethics.

The consultation is a brief opportunity to ask questions, share what is bringing you to therapy, and learn more about beginning our work together. We can also discuss fees, payment, and sliding scale availability if needed.

Scheduling & Cancellations

You are welcome to visit my contact page in order to schedule a 15-minute consultation or send me a message with any questions. The consultation is a brief opportunity to share what you are looking for, ask questions, and discuss next steps. If you would like to begin therapy, we can schedule an initial appointment.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments will be charged the full session fee.

Fees & Insurance

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes. The fee is $175 per session.

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, debit cards, and credit cards.

My practice is private pay, and I do not bill insurance directly.

Some clients choose to use out-of-network benefits through their insurance plan. If this is something you would like to explore, I can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit directly to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan, so I encourage you to contact your provider directly to better understand your benefits.

A limited number of sliding scale appointments may be available based on financial need and current availability. Please contact me if you would like to discuss your situation and whether a reduced fee option may be available.
